Partner Anna Regina P. Batuhan obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines in 1991, cum laude, 1st in the graduating class, and class valedictorian.
She obtained her Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., in 1995. At Harvard, her areas of concentration included corporations, corporate finance, and financing transactions. After Harvard, Ms. Batuhan resumed her practice at the law firm of Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose, where she had the opportunity to work on a number of loan, capital market, and project finance transactions. In 1997, Ms. Batuhan joined Ayala Corporation, where she served as internal counsel with the rank of Associate Director for Legal Services beginning 2003. Ms. Batuhan resigned her post in Ayala in August 2008 following the birth of her second child. In her twenty years of practice, Ms. Batuhan’s experience in corporate transactions, specifically in the field of corporate financing, has been both varied and extensive.
Partner Joselito John G. Blando graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of law in 1992 (Honor Society). He worked at SyCip Law from 1992 to 2001. Atty. Blando is a labor, immigration, litigation, special projects and administrative areas law practitioner.
Partner Roberto Ramon J. Concepcion earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, College of Law in 1995. He worked at SyCip Law from 1995 to 2001 where he was extensively trained at the Firm’s Litigation, Intellectual Property and Special Projects departments. Atty. Concepcion brought this extensive training with him and has represented a wide range of the Firm’s clients in a variety of cases including those involving corporate rehabilitation, commercial arbitration, intra-corporate disputes, telecommunications, public utilities, property disputes, trademark infringement and enforcement of intellectual property rights, civil law and criminal law.
Partner Diosdado E. Trillana graduated from University of the Philippines, College of Law in 1997. He worked at SyCip Law from 1997 to 2006. Atty. Trillana is a litigation, intellectual property and corporate lawyer. He has successfully litigated a number of intra-corporate disputes, as well as assisted in the protection of intellectual property rights for multinational clients.
Special Counsel Aristotle B. Batuhan graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of Law in 1992 (Honor Society). He earned his master’s degree from Harvard Law School in 1995. At Harvard, his areas of concentration included constitutional law and public international law. Upon graduation from Harvard, he worked briefly as a visiting foreign attorney at the prestigious law offices of Hale & Dorr in Boston.
From 1996 to early 1999, Atty. Batuhan worked as a senior associate at SyCip Law. His practice areas included corporations, foreign investments, project finance, public utilities (telecoms and water), banking, securities and privatization. He also has experience in corporate, civil and criminal litigation, and has argued cases before labor and other administrative tribunals.
Atty. Batuhan was tapped to join the Presidential Management Staff, Office of the President in April 1999, with the rank of presidential assistant. He was tasked to review foreign-funded projects and government infrastructure contracts. He resigned his post in October 2000. Atty. Batuhan also served as Senior Legal Consultant at the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff in January 2006 to early 2007.
Atty. Batuhan co-founded Batuhan Blando Concepcion Law Offices in October 2001 and was its Managing Partner until July 20, 2010, when he was appointed as Undersecretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). He resigned from DOTC on October 15, 2011 and resumed his private practice as Special Counsel at Batuhan Blando Concepcion & Trillana Law Offices.
The Firm employs a number of associates to assist the partners and special counsel in the servicing of clients.
Marcelino C. Arias, Jr. received his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of the Philippines, College of Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
Hanna H. Barcena received her Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from San Beda College of Law, Alabang. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies (Major in European Studies) from the De La Salle University.
Mr. Alberto C. Garcia Jr. received his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from San Beda College of Law, Manila. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities with a Professional Certificate in Political Economy from the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Paolo Victorio F. Baylon received his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from San Beda College Alabang School of Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Entrepreneurial Management from San Beda College, Mendiola, Manila.
Rea Loise G. Pagkalinawan received her Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College Alabang School of Law. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Major in Human Resource Management from De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde.
Jerome Carlo C. Castro received his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from San Beda College Alabang School of Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Entrepreneurial Management from San Beda College, Mendiola, Manila.
